As a result of the Madoff affair in December, 2008, the AGC has lost a significant source of invested finances and is functioning with reduced operating capital which is being prioritized for ministry and basic administration. Simply put, without online donations there can be no viable AGC web site with fresh daily content and improved applications to meet modern needs. The average monthly costs for this site to be fully restored to 4,000 pages with all features is $1,200 USD, but it can function with a base minimum of $500 USD per month. As mentioned elsewhere on this site, The Assembly of good Christians does not register for tax-exempt status anywhere in the world. In the United States this means we are not a registered, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. In Canada any contribution is an administrative fee and not a donation. Therefore in both cases the funds that go directly to AGC through PayPal cannot be tax deductible. If you would like to make a donation to the AGC donations towards the upkeep of the site your assistance will be greatly appreciated. We will be looking at donation 'package offers' in the future. Paypal Security, Privacy Policy, Taxation Records PayPalPayPal is a secure payment provider that processes credit card and bank transfer payments. You do not need to have a PayPal account to make a donation to the AGC. A donation can be made through PayPal using a number of cards, including Visa/Delta/Electron, MasterCard/EuroCard, Switch/Maestro, Solo, American Express and Discover, depending on where you are in the world. PayPal Security Payment of your donation to the AGC will take place through a secure server. When you make your donation the SSL Secured padlock icon will appear in the Status Bar at the bottom of your browser window. This indicates that the transaction is taking place through a secure encrypted server. The PayPal website explains their secure transaction system thus: PayPal uses the latest Data Security and Encryption technology and proprietary procedures to protect the security of its members transactions. The security of your information, transactions, and money is the core of our business and our top priority at PayPal. PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to ours using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available). Taxation As previously mentioned, the AGC is not a registered charity anywhere in the world, so donations are not tax deductible. Various taxation offices, primarily in North America require that the names, contact details, donation amounts and donation methods of donors be kept on file on file. This information is for the purpose of taxation records only, and will not be passed on unless required by taxation law. Both the AGC and PayPal have this information. Please note that although the AGC is required by Taxation law to keep these records, the AGC website is not currently subject to any taxation payments. This means that 100% of your donation will be used to support the work carried out on the AGC website. |
