WHAT DO YOU SAY TO A POLICE OFFICER?

JESUS SAID, "Do not give dogs what is holy; and do not throw your pearls before pigs, or else they may stomp on you and turn and attack you." Matthew 7:6; Gospel of Thomas 93:1-2

Generally the good Christian says to the police officer or the prison guard "buzz off" or something very much like it. At all times the good Christian should be civil and polite, but quite firm.

POLICE CAN BE IGNORANT

The good Christian can only evaluate another human being by their words and actions. Many police officers or prison guards do not know whom they serve. They probably believe that the illusion is true and that the reality is false. We see so many examples daily where the police account of events is completely the opposite of what eye-witness accounts (including video-tape) state.

MANY ARE GOOFS

Patience and prayer is required to help these people. But it is also true that many police and prison guards show that they are "goofs" by their words and actions. By doing this, they have surrendered themselves to the idol of the state and seek to defy GOD.

THE POLICE SAY "TRUST US",  WE SAY EARN IT

In the Gospel of John, when Pilate asks the Jewish authorities for the charges against Jesus, they answer, "If this man were not a criminal, we would not have handed him over," Gospel of John, 18:30 - in short, "Trust us." ! The Book of Acts states, "Even though they found no cause for a sentence of death, they asked Pilate to have Him killed." Acts of the Apostles 13:28.

WHO KILLED JESUS?

What killed Jesus was not a lack of religion, but religion itself; not lawlessness; not disorder, but the upholders of "law" and "religion" - the police of His day.

THE PLAIN TRUTH

Jesus was arrested, "tried", convicted, and executed. Yet he did not represent an armed threat to the existing order. If He broke any civil or criminal laws he did so by teaching and healing others. Why then was he such a threat that he had to be killed?

It was essential that Jesus Christ be killed without the real reasons becoming known, because such knowledge would unmask the true nature of the System. If people actually realized, then or now, why Jesus was killed, they would rise up and overthrow the delusionary systems that keep them in line.

JESUS CHRIST IS TRUE LAW AND ORDER

So, they used violence against Him. Jesus was not only innocent, but really did represent true religion, true law, true order. Jesus exposed this violent illusion for what it really was: not to defend society, not to "keep the streets safe," but proved that it was really an attack on GOD.

So if we really look at the words and life of Jesus, we can see why the Powers and the System had little choice but to do everything they could to destroy Him.

THE SYSTEM IS ON A POWER TRIP!

JESUS SAID, "I took my stand in the middle of the world, and in the flesh I appeared to people. I found them all drunk." Gospel of Thomas 28

Cathar Christians believe that modern society is poised on the brink of major disorder as a result of the inability of the System to be straight - up and honest in its attempts to address the problems we face, now and in the future. It is drunk and power-tripping. History has shown that when governments are confronted by the people and asked for an accounting their traditional response is to lash out with the power of the police and the military.

In recent years dozens of our members and supporters entered provincial jails and federal prisons as inmates. Our literature and records are the subject of frequent seizure and impounding by law enforcement agents. Warrants are regularly issued across the country for many of our pastors and elders who seek to serve the Lord.

REFUSE TO COOPERATE WITH EVIL

JESUS SAID, "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve GOD and man." Matthew 6:24 Gospel of Thomas 47

In order to be true to one's conscience and true to GOD, a righteous man has no alternative but to refuse to cooperate with an evil system.

JESUS SAID, "No one can enter a strong man's house and rob him without first tying that person's hands; then he can rob him." Gospel of Mark 3:27; Gospel of Thomas 35

So what does a good Christian say to a police officer or prison guard? It's very simple and comes directly from the New Testament. We say:

"You are inviting a struggle in which you will lose your power, your lives, and worst of all, your souls unless you accept the path of Jesus."

DON'T SUCK UP

If GOD loves us unconditionally, there is no need to seek conditional love from the System which promise us rewards in return for devotion. Sucking up won't accomplish a thing.

The good Christian is not against the world, but is against the adoration of the powers that rule in the world.

THE SYSTEM IS TOAST

JESUS SAID, "Don't give what is holy to dogs, for they might throw them upon the manure pile." Gospel of Thomas 93:1-2

The big churches and the police can sound very persuasive and convincing. They know that when people in the street get an idea of GOD's new order, they will realize that it means that the people who run the System will probably be out of a job.

So they say and do the same things they criticize us for - but they control the keys.

We say that's their story - so let them tell it!

WHY OBEY THE GOVERNMENT?

From a Biblical point of view government is one of the means GOD has established to rule His creation through human stewardship. The public official is obliged as a steward and servant to respond in obedience to GOD's universal dominion over the earth.

Government is as important in GOD's self-revelation as family life, farming, worship, and every other aspect of creational life that was made in and through and for Jesus Christ to reveal the glory of GOD (Ps. 93; 94:1-3; 95:3; Isa. 9:6-7; Col. 1:16; Heb. 1:8-14; Rev. 1:5, 8; 19:11-21).

The proper use of public authority or the abuse of that authority clear shows when it comes to the use of force. From the beginning of the biblical witness GOD reveals that the use of force against another human being is wrong (Gen. 9:5-6; Exod. 20:13; 21:12-27).

Governments and the courts are called to look after the general public health and welfare of the whole society, but that does not give them the authority to disrupt or destroy the proper responsibilities that GOD has given to parents, pastors, teachers, employers, and other stewards.

When government itself uses force in illegal ways or in ways that do not restrain violence but only encourage it. When it uses the courts to support it, they display irresponsibility and a lack of obedience to GOD's norm of justice. As a citizen of GOD's Kingdom, The good Christian may chose to ignore the courts of men when they ignore GOD.
