Confronting
our feelings and giving
them appropriate expression always takes strength, not weakness.
It takes strength to acknowledge our anger, and sometimes more
strength yet to curb the aggressive urges anger may bring and to
channel them into nonviolent outlets. It takes strength to face
our sadness and to grieve and to let our grief and our anger
flow in tears when they need to. It takes strength to talk about
our feelings and to reach out for help and comfort when we need
it.

are on various
Council and
stewardship positions. Leading up to their installation we will profile
some.

Good Christians support, endorse and will gather this Saturday for the largest demonstration on climate change in U.S. history.
Working
Group on Climate Change meets in London, UK
12 Apr 07 The AGC in the UK will be
involved in a consultation of
international church bodies about climate change which will meet in
London later this week.
The
consultation, hosted by Christian Aid and sponsored by the World
Council of Churches (WCC) Working Group on Climate Change, meets in the
British capital from 12-15 April 2007. It will look at the implications
of
climate change for the struggle against poverty in a world where years
of development efforts are destroyed in a few seconds or hours by a
hurricane or a single flood.
Good
Christians supports anti-cluster bomb legislation
11 Apr 07 In addition to pushing for a complete ban on the production,
storing and use of cluster bombs, the AGC will be
advocating for US legislation to limit the
use of cluster bombs.
A bill that
has been introduced into the US Senate with the backing
of a huge range of church and peace groups would
ban the use of cluster munitions in or near
civilian populated areas and the use, sale and transfer of
cluster munitions with a failure rate of more than 1 per
cent.

Holocaust Remembrance
Day
On Monday good Christians
worldwide marked Holocaust Remembrance Day by two minutes of silence,
prayers and reading aloud names of Holocaust victims.
AGC influences end to shameless
Vaticanist boycott Yad Vashem memorial
Following a Vatican threat to boycott the memorial due to museum
contents accurately describing the role of Pius XXII's conduct during
World War Two, the AGC offered to have it's representative take
his place at the ceremony. In an abrupt about face, the Vaticanist
church dropped their objections and attended.
The AGC has stated
this is a one time "free pass" for the Vaticanist church until April
2009 to engage in serious, mutual dialogue on the Holocaust with
scholars worldwide and Yad Vashem in particular after which time the
AGC will formally request it permanently replace the Vatican at the
ceremony.
GCCC calls Virginia Tech killings and lack of gun restrictions "repulsive"
Outgoing General Secretary Paul
Ryan said all senseless violence is repulsive specially when strong gun
control legislation would prevent such events. While he offered prayers
for the family and friends of victims and expressed thanksgiving for
the safety of six good Christian students on campus, he said "unless
and until people restrict weapons of violence, the endless wasted
lament will continue."
Good
Christians in the USA will mark National Crime Victims' Rights Week
April 22-29, holding memorial services to remember victims of crime and
to promote victims' rights while also pressing for comprehensive gun
control.

GCCC in Canada may break with tradition and endorse the Green Party
Following a new consensus reached at the AGM 2007, good Christians in
Canada may formally endorse the Green Party. This would be a seismic
shift for a community that has traditionally been aligned with the
Progressives, the CCF-NDP and on occasion, the Liberals. Disappointment
has been strong over the failure of NDP leader Jack Layton to extend
even the most basic of courtesies to Green Party leader Elizabeth May or seek a strategic
alliance.

As the AGC
and affiliates continue to show sizable growth in parts of Europe and
the America's so too is an attempt to revise the history of the French
Inquisition and the Albigensian crusade in an effort to undercut
sympathy for the medieval Cathar movements and modern day successors.
We will examine this in depth with a commentary on what this means for
good Christians today, the dismal future of the Roman Church and an
official AGC statement on the Inquisition.

In the
summer of 2007 we are migrating the public site to a Content

means that content will
now increasingly be entered by users locally. The site will be using
Drupal, an open source program. In the event of future hack
attacks it means a faster re-post time.
