"Zacchaeus stood there and said
to the Lord, "Look,
half of my possessions, Lord, I will give to the poor; and if I
have defrauded anyone of anything, I will pay back four times as
much." Then Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this
house, because he too is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man
came to seek out and to save the lost."

Catholic League ok with Albigensian genocide (again)
PBS will
show May 9 and 16, PBS a four-part series called “The Secret Files of
the Inquisition.” The head of the extremist Catholic League "Wild Bill"
Donohue opined today
in favor of the Spanish Inquisition while ignoring all references to
his past comments lauding the French Inquisition and the death of good
Christians.
"The Inquisition,'' Pope John
Paul II
noted at the time, "belongs to a tormented phase in the history
of the church'' that should be examined "in a spirit of
sincerity and open-mindedness.''

legislative assembly on June 2 and good Christians have been active in
promoting a more transparent selection process for political candidates

Peace (CSJP) to encourage the nomination of candidates by consensus, a
practice used by the AGC.

Financed by VoteVets.org, (endorsed
by the AGC) the
$500,000 in ads will feature retired Maj.
Gen. John Batiste and Paul Eaton, both of whom have publicly criticized
the Pentagon's civilian leadership in the past. Batiste commanded the
First U.S. Infantry Division in Iraq. Eaton oversaw training of the
Iraqi military from 2003 to 2004.
The media markets chosen by VoteVets are designed to pressure
Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, John Sununu of New Hampshire,
John Warner of Virginia and Norm Coleman of Minnesota, all of whom are
up for re-election next year.
The ads also will run in the
congressional districts of Republican
Reps. Mary Bono of California, Phil English of Pennsylvania, Randy Kuhl
and James Walsh of New York, Jo Ann Emerson of Missouri, Timothy
Johnson of Illinois, Fred Upton of Michigan and Michael Castle of
Delaware.
VoteVets.org is
endorsed and supported by the AGC through the 7DM ministry
outreach. The Seven Days in May program attempts to raise the
spiritual and constitutional awareness of current and past USA service

day a week in the month of May is prayerfully dedicated to a GODly

New USA sanctuary movement for
illegal immigrants
Those seeking a change in federal
policies will announce Wednesday
the launch of a new sanctuary movement designed to protect illegal
immigrants from deportation and spur immigration reform.
Announcements will be made in
Seattle as
well as in Los Angeles, New York and other cities. The movement is
billed as a revival of a church-sponsored one in the 1980s that helped
Central Americans fleeing civil wars.
Houses of worship will
participate in the interfaith movement by
offering housing, legal help, financial assistance and advocacy.
The AGC has a clear
policy on Sanctuary but has not
determined if it will formally endorse or support this new group.

14 May 07 Elder's endorse win by Mayawati in Uttar Pradesh elections
The elections in Uttar Pradesh,
the largest state in India and
traditionally a bellwether of national politics, delivered victory on
Friday to a party that champions the interests of low-caste Dalits, led
by a schoolteacher-turned-politician who goes by one name: Mayawati.
With 113 million voters, the Uttar Pradesh electorate is nearly twice
the size of the population of France. Voter turnout was 48 percent.
The ascendance of caste-based parties has transformed Indian politics
in recent decades, but Mayawati's victory is the first time a Dalit-led
party has won a state election single-handedly. It is also the first
time a Dalit party has so deliberately embraced Brahmins. Visit indianelections.com
The
AGC in India endorsed the Bahujan Samaj
Party. Indian Elder Pradeep Singh speaking of behalf of the AGC Council
of Elders stated:
"This is a result of
great historical consequence for it marks the first time a party in
India gained power by rising above caste, rising above religion to
embrace all people of good will working to solve common problems.
It is a momentous event that should encourage people around the world".

The Alabama Department of

what it called "single-issue extremists." The Web site says such groups
include people who feel they are trying to create a better world.
28 May 07 USA Elders earmark 500,000$ USD for military rehab services
Meeting in special session during the Memorial Day weekend, elders in the United States directed that $500,000 be placed in a special budget line for the 2007-2008 fiscal year exclusively marked for two AGC hospices on the condition is be used for assisting in the rehabilitation of returning American service people. The funds will go to the House of the Dove and Paraclete House. Details to be web posted.
This amount
supplements the $100,000 USD allocated for the service people from
several countries, principally the U.S. who have sought from the AGC Right
of Sanctuary.
An
additional $75,000 USD has been spent by the AGC, a peace

27 May 07 Aussie AGC to decide website fate in 2008
The bi-annual conference meeting in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
decided last week that if would defer a decision on re-opening its
affiliated domain website on www.cathar.net until after December, 2007
in the hopes of a more positive atmosphere in the country.
Since 2001, many AGC national sites withdrew their online presence at
the main site. While some have maintained individual national pages,
the Australian good Christians have had an "on again - off again"
feeling until the last weeks concensus was known.
It was decided however, to allow one Australian page on the main site
with basic contact information and details about some local actions
leading up to the World Parliament of Religion scheduled to be held in
Melbourne December 3rd to 9th, 2009.
